![]() Top 10 Hardware Items It's the holidays. You've got about $10,000 to blow on whatever you want. What to get what to get. Oh, having trouble deciding? It's ok, we here at eSportsTV have taken the work out of it. Rest your weary mouse clicking finger and your burning monitor seared eyes, it'll be ok. We've got a solid list of 10 hardware gotta haves for this year's holiday season, so sit back and peruse this list of tasty goodies.Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 ![]() Blasting away competitors once again, Cooler Master has released a monster of a case this year. The Cosmos 1000 is their latest offering, and man what a doozy. Twelve total bays, with individual hard drive holders that have little air holes to keep those Raptors chilly. Almost 100% tooless construction for what ever kind of build you want to toss in there, along with being water cooling ready out of the box, the Cosmos is the case for this year. Intel's Core 2 Extreme QX9650 ![]() Boasting their new 45nm manufacturing process, the QX9650 blows every other CPU out of the water. Four cores, 12MB L2 Cache, 3.0GHz stock speed, able to be overclocked to over 4.0GHz on AIR, this CPU is simply amazing. Unfortunately, all this power doesn't come cheap, gonna set you back over $1,100 per unit, but what a way to lose money. Xbox 360 Elite ![]() Yes, the black one with the 120GB hard drive and HDMI capability. The one that comes with all the cool black accessories to go with your black shirt, jeans, shoes, hair, computer case, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Got a brain busting 72" 1080p HDTV? No problem, the Elite will push that 1080p signal all day long to your TV and leave you crying tears of orgasmic gaming bliss. Sapphire's Radeon 3870 ![]() Oh, you wanted the 8800GTX here? Yeah, not going to happen, you can keep your bloated, overpriced monstrosity. I'll take two of these nice 3870's and toss them into CrossFire mode, then I'll blow away that 8800GTX you paid more for than I paid for two of these. With 512MB of GDDR4 RAM and HDCP ready, this baby is waiting for you to drop her in next to her just as good looking best friend for some extremely hot video card to video card action. Asus MAXIMUS EXTREME X38 Motherboard ![]() Just look at the title. It's the MAXIMUS EXTREME. EXTREME!!! With the X38 chipset from Intel, this baby can rock that new QX9650 you bought earlier, or the QX9770 when buy it next year. PCIe 2.0, DDR3, up to a 1600MHz FSB, 6 SATA II ports, 2 eSATA II ports, and about a billion USB and Firewire ports. Seriously, the only way they could have made it better would be to add more amazing words to the title. Corsair's TWIN3X20481800C7DFIN ![]() Ok, to translate that gibberish up there, this is RAM from Corsair. It's DDR3. I know, I know, DDR3 sucks blah blah blah, keep your pants on. This is the premiere DDR3 RAM out there right now. Stock speeds of 1800Mhz, these puppies cook like a Hot Pocket. Add the lowest CAS Latency of DDR3 at 7-7-7-20 along with some really sweet looking heat spreaders, and you've got some ballin' RAM for your new system. Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD ![]() Got a thousand movies? Like to download tons of TV shows? Just starting to work with HD captured footage? Got a few hundred gigs of...stuff? No problem, Seagate's gotcha covered. Say it with me, one terabyte. One thousand gigabytes. Come on, you know you want to. Not only can you store about a million minutes of music in MP3 form, but you can access that music pretty darn quickly. Featuring an eye-popping 32MB cache and a blistering 4.16ms access time, this might not be the last hard drive you buy, but it'll hold you over for a good long time. Creative Lab's X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion Series sound card ![]() It says Fatal1ty in the title, 'nuff said. Onboard sound? Please, stab yourself in the eye with a hot french fry. Drop this sexy sounding beast into your computer and let your ears bleed. Rockin' the 7.1 channel sound, along with the breakout box in front that's got about a million inputs and outputs, this'll take anything you throw at it, then slam it right back into your body with pulse modifying power. Samsung 226BW ![]() What, this was released near the beginning of the year? So what, it's a crazy good monitor. Widescreen, 22", 2ms GTG response time. You can game on this puppy, then turn around and watch an HD movie, then turn around and game some more, and it'll just keep right on chugging. Gigantic, uber fast response time, really sexy looking, bright enough to light your room at night, what's not to like about this monitor? Nintendo Wii ![]() Yup, this came out last year. Guess what though, you still can't find one. They sell out ridiculously fast when they do manage to get back into stock, and most places have jacked the price up above $600. That being said, this is still a must have for the holidays for 2007. The ultimate party game, just make sure you keep your hands dry. This list is in no way complete or mandatory, it's just 10 of the best things you can get this year in the arena of hardware. You might need something different, or think you can find something better, either way, you're gonna have fun doing it and building it, and we here at eSportsTV wish you a Happy Holidays.
