(Las Vegas, NEVADA) – September 26, 2007 – The KODE5 USA Regional Qualifiers, held this year at NewEgg.com’s LANfest2K7 from October 5th to 7th, is just around the corner. During our communication last week, we announced that there would be two mystery teams that will be chosen to face off against the two winning teams from LANfest2K7. Today, KODE5 is pleased to reveal USA’s eMazing Gaming and Canada’s Team EG as the two invite teams that will attend the KODE5 USA Regional Finals. With Global Supporters Cooler Master, GIGABYTE, and Corsair Memory, the KODE5 Global Gaming Revolution brings competitive gaming to the forefront with events in 16 countries across the globe.
“With both teams qualifying for this year’s WCG competition, we’ve assembled two of the top Counter-Strike 1.6 teams in all of North America to compete at CES,” notes Lester Lau, KODE5 Revolutionary-in-Command. “It’s going to be a truly epic face-off at the KODE5 USA Regional Finals and an event that gamers will not want to miss.”
“It's an honor to be selected as a mystery team for the KODE5 USA Finals,” said Alexander Garfield, Executive Director of Team EG. “Last year, KODE5 proved itself to be an extremely prestigious nation-based eSports event, with extremely successful qualifiers and a great Global Final in its very first year of existence. We anticipate that in its second go-around, KODE5 will be even better, and are very excited to fight for our chance to represent North America.”
Counter-Strike 1.6 gamers can get in-the-game by attending the KODE5 USA Regional Qualifiers in the BYOC area of Newegg.com’s LANfest2K7. The top two teams, along with the two invite teams, will battle for the KODE5 USA Regional Finals at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
